Accurate room measurements help determine which tracking systems, screens, enclosures and projectors can be considered. Measure the finished usable space rather than relying only on building plans.
Measurements to record
- Width: wall to wall at the planned hitting position.
- Length: from the screen or net position to the rear limit of the playing area.
- Ceiling height: measure the lowest obstruction, not only the highest point.
- Door and access dimensions: include stairs, corners and lifts used for delivery.
Check the swing area
Test a comfortable full swing with the players who will use the room. Consider handedness, golfer height, clubs, lights, beams, doors and furniture. Do not assume one universal minimum fits every golfer or system.
Record room services
Note power outlets, network access, ventilation, windows, ambient light and the intended location of the computer and projector. Photographs and a simple sketch are helpful.
